Dealer's Remarks
The original performance SUV. GMC built the Typhoon for only two model years, 1992 and 1993, and just 4,697 total. Under the hood is a turbocharged, intercooled 4.3L V6 rated at 280 hp and 360 lb-ft, through a 4-speed automatic to full-time all-wheel drive. The Typhoon was built off the GMC Jimmy and added the AWD system, an air-operated self-leveling rear suspension and its own body kit. It's even rarer than people think. If you grew up in the late '80s and early '90s, you remember these and the Syclone pickup that came before it.
This one has been a local truck in the Anderson, SC area for roughly 15 to 20 years and is the only Typhoon currently registered in South Carolina per our title records. It comes with paperwork and extra Typhoon decals. It's currently on Buick Grand National-style wheels, which really set it off, and the original wheels and center caps come with it if you want to take it back to stock.
